The Economics and Business Society
gives students an opportunity to get some exposure to the fast-paced corporate world from beyond their textbook. The society regularly shares news articles and research papers from various think tanks and journals, on pressing global economic events, to engage the students with insightful economic questions. The student body also gets an opportunity to explore and share their own views on economic issues in the society’s annual Economics Journal. To awaken the inner entrepreneur within students, the society makes a constant effort to get the student body in contact with successful business leaders by holding workshops and attending business summits like YLES (LUMS Youth Leaders’ and Entrepreneurs Summit). The society has focused on introducing the student body to successful women in the corporate world as well as arranging trips to corporations to educate students on the inner workings of a business. The students are also encouraged to come up with creative innovative ideas in frequent inter-house competitions. Alongside this, our society participates in inter school competitions in order to encourage students to learn skills like public speaking, persuasion, time management, and teamwork. Our students have shown their mastery of these skills by winning Best Delegation at the Liberty Entrepreneurial Contest and winning many other awards at countless other prestigious competition.
