Public Speaking
Urdu Debates
The Urdu Debates Society has been active for the last 13 years. This society participates in parliamentary debating competitions and also provides an opportunity for students to hone their public speaking skills. It encourages students to have confidence in their opinions and instills in them the ability to present these opinions to a large audience.
Moreover, all members of the society gain an opportunity to learn about various topics, such as politics, environmental, social or global issues, international relations, sports, and many more.
The backbone of the society is our coach, Sir Naveed Dogar and our teacher in charge, Mrs. Nayyar Hashmi. Without their support and dedication, the progress and development of the society would not have been possible. Since Urdu is a language which many students are not very enthusiastic about, Sir Naveed’s motivation has always been the key factor in encouraging students to join the society and ensuring they stay till they graduate school.
We attend at least 1 competition each month and compete in the under-19 category. Competitions include LUMS IV, Nationals, Shahjiwana, MIUDC, and LGS Defence Debating Challenge.
