We believe that children should be exposed to as many ideas and opportunities as possible and given the freedom to explore and question them. We want our students to form their own opinions and make their own choices. We strongly encourage our students to take part in extracurricular activities and community service projects as well. We aim to provide a learning environment that enables our children to be thinking, socially responsible, well-rounded individuals.

At 31 FCC we aim to foster that kind of independence and self-belief. We encourage our young children to learn by doing and to discover things for themselves. We appreciate children’s creativity and are not looking for a perfect product. We look at the process of learning and making connections; this is what we feel has real value.

Literacy and Language:

Our literacy and language program address the diverse literacy needs of our students through targeted instruction and small group activities. We employ a targeted and explicit approach to teaching phonics and reading, designed to enhance both literacy and communication skills. Listening and speaking activities are incorporated to help students gain confidence in expressing their thoughts and ideas. Our reading curriculum emphasizes the development of comprehension and fluency, encouraging students to explore a variety of genres and texts that foster a love for reading. For writing, we use multisensory activities that guide students from letter formation to a process-oriented approach, fostering independence as writers. By fostering connections between reading and writing across all subjects, our curriculum remains emotionally engaging, systematic, and differentiated to meet each student’s unique requirements. We actively involve parents as partners in the learning process, recognising that a community-based approach is vital for cultivating a lasting love for reading and ensuring success.

English and Urdu:

We are dedicated to teaching English and Urdu through engaging and interactive activities that promote reading and practical usage. We celebrate the diverse linguistic backgrounds of our students and their families, honoring the rich heritage of Pakistan. Committed to creating an inclusive environment, we ensure that every language is respected and valued, reflecting our belief in the importance of cultural diversity in education.

Personal, Social, Health, and Economic Education (PSHE):

Our PSHE lessons are designed to support your child's overall development in these four key areas. We help students understand their feelings, build confidence, and tackle challenges with a positive mindset. They also learn to work well with others, show kindness and respect, and make friends while becoming active members of their community. Additionally, we teach them how to care for their bodies and minds, make healthy choices, and stay safe. We also teach simple money skills, helping children learn how to make smart choices with money and understand different jobs, and businesses, and how they fit into our community and environment. Together, these lessons empower your child to grow personally, socially, and emotionally

Social Sciences/Global Perspectives:

In our Social Sciences lessons, students explore different cultures, countries, and communities, understanding how geography and history influence the lives of people around the world. This fosters empathy and respect for others. Additionally, in line with Global Perspectives teachings, students explore significant global issues like environmental care, health, and the diversity of jobs and families. Through engaging activities and discussions, they develop critical thinking skills, learn to collaborate with peers, and explore various ideas, preparing them to be thoughtful, global citizens.

Mathematics:

Our mathematics curriculum emphasizes conceptual understanding and real-world application. We value the methods students choose to solve problems and recognise the skills they develop along the way. Students transition from concrete representations to more abstract concepts through experiential learning methods, enhancing their mathematical comprehension.
